25% of children have a treatable vision or ocular health problems. Vision accounts for 80% of learning.
Jamison Optical is dedicated to the development of vision in children. We are proud participants of the InfantSEE program. This program is a public health program launched in 2005 by the American Optometric Association to provide a no-cost comprehensive infant eye assessment of infants between 6 and 12 months of age.
Vision is an important part of early development and achieving infants’ milestones. The InfantSEE assessment will help identify the risk for eye or vision disorders. Dr. Jamison will be testing for excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. She will be evaluating eye movement ability and eye health problems. Even though these problems are not common, it is important to identify children who have them at this young age. It is easier to correct eye and visual problems if treatment begins early.
Jamison Optical is excited to provide InfantSEE to the community of Eden Prairie as a no-cost public service. Please go to our website to learn about our Free Pre K Screening.
